Betty Box and Corinne Simpson
My sister Corinne and her husband's aunt, Betty Box, came for five days to help me "fine tune" my decorating efforts for our comfortable and cozy apartment. Richard was such a good sport while the three of us just "did our thing." He kept us laughing all the time.
Actually, Betty is more than my brother-in-law's aunt. She is a dear, dear friend who has helped me in the past with two other major decorating projects. She and Corinne make an awesome team. It is fascinating to see the creative processes take place while they discuss, propose, try this, then that, and finally come to lovely conclusions. I learned a lot from them both.
With the exception of more family pictures--especially Rozier family pictures, a floor lamp for the computer room, and a new wastebasket, I think we're finished! What a whirlwind 5 days! I so appreciated their generosity in coming so far (from Anaheim and Woodland Hills in Southern California) and sharing their talents. It was fun, fun, fun.
Love, Very Blessed Susan

Utah Trip June 2008

Beautiful Yosemite Falls

We had a great time on this trip. Besides visiting friends and relatives and just enjoying the journey, we picked up my "stuff" which was stored in my brother Spencer's basement. Mainly, my dishes, crystal and china, and Christmas decorations (including my prized Disney ornaments). Our new Honda Accord handled the load admirably with the back seats folding forward.

I want to add a picture of our china cabinet here at this point so you can see the end result, but I don't know how to get it from the top to the bottom so it'll probably be the first picture you see at the top of the blog and you won't know what it is until you get down to here!

Quick Chico Trip in New Car

Marissa (12) and Jade (9) and Grandma Susan on their trip to Chico.
2008 Honda Accord (Huge Smiley Face)

EARLY one Saturday morning I called for Jade and Rissy to get ready quickly--we're taking an impromptu trip to Chico! There were 900 goats eating the grass and ground cover in an eight acre area across the street from my daughter's house. They had been there for a couple of weeks and it was quite the tourist attraction. All the goats had bells around their necks. It sounded like such a fun thing to do on the spur of the moment.

We listened to CD's all the way there, singing along as we went. This is a 4-1/2 hour trip. About 3 hours into the trip we get the message that the goats had just been loaded up and taken away! So much for timing!

We had fun anyway!
